Father’s Day don’t get the same hoopla as Mother’s Day. But, it’s still a special and well deserved day. My dad is awesome…he’s funny, giving and always put me and my brother’s needs first in his life. And for that, I’m greatly blessed. Even though I have a lot going on this weekend with the dance recital, prayer breakfast and other things, I will definitely set aside time for my Dad and celebrate his special day.
I’ve the whole day planned out. First, I’m making his favorite meal (breakfast) and giving him his gifts. I brought him a bunch of goodies. I know he’s going to love it. Then, I plan on taking him and my uncle to a really nice steakhouse for dinner…a real meat and potatoes meal.
So, if your Dad is still alive, then be thankful. Make sure you send some time with him. And, if he doesn’t live close to you, then make him your first call of the day. It’ll put a smile on his face….daughters are so precious in their eyes.
Unfortunately, I know Father’s Day can be difficult because of broken and non existing relationships. Many of you were raised in single family homes and didn’t have a father figure. You may feel empty inside and have a hard time relating to the rest of the world celebrating Father’s Day. Or, you may have lost your father. In either case, Father’s Day ends up being a day of “I wish I had…” In light of this, I would suggest spending and celebrating the day with someone you love and adore. You’ll do something good for someone else and probably lift your heavy heart.
Getting back to the question……am I a daddy’s girl? I would say so. I have been told, “you are your father’s heart.” What would you say? Are you a daddy’s girl too? I would love to hear from you. Leave me a comment giving me all the details….how you are spending Father’s day, the gifts you brought, your Dad’s personality. Go ahead and spill the beans. Okay, that’s it for now.
Hugs,
