This is probably not going to be the first time you hear me talking about Disney. I’ve been to Disney a few times, but unfortunately, not as many times as I would like! Let’s put it this way….it’s been so long since I’ve been there, the Animal Kingdom will be brand new to me! Yes, it’s truly been this long (and that’s sad)!
So Laticia and I have been talking about when we could possibly go and we’re in the process of throwing around some ideas. I honestly think she’s sick of hearing the word “Disney” come out of my mouth!!!! I’ve taken to speaking with co-workers about the best places to stay, the best meal plans to buy (or not buy)….so you can see, this is not a fleeting thought! Originally, I was going to go the last weekend in June, but thought the better of it because I figured I wouldn’t enjoy it as much. The weather is horribly hot this time of year and ALL the kids are out of school for the summer. From what I’ve heard from so many different people is that Disney is not just for kids alone….as a matter of fact, I heard Disney is absolutely phenomenal WITHOUT kids! The experience is quite different. Not that I would begrudge my future children a trip to the “Happiest Place On Earth“, but I definitely want to experience it in my carefree, single state. I figured this place would be the best escape from the everyday doldrums of work, paying bills, and the usual routine.
A co-worker suggested I go to Disney in the Fall season: the weather is optimal, kids are in school (and parents are less likely to pull them out of school since it’s so early in the school year), and it is just quite enjoyable. As a matter of fact, she told me about the Wine and Food Festival in October. I would LOVE to do that. Apparently, you walk around from country to country in Epcot where they give you tasting samples of wine and of course, there’s food to be had as well.
From more of what was told to me, no matter the accommodations, Disney does EVERYTHING right. Whether it’s economy or moderate or deluxe, the accommodations are pretty good no matter where you stay within the Disney resorts. As for the dining plans, there are a few levels and you won’t be wanting for more. Based on everything I was told and everything I researched on my own, I have a semi-battleplan. Now it’s just a matter of finding the money and time to go. I can’t wait to experience Disney again…unfortunately, I already know that the time I spend there will be a tease. I know that I won’t want to leave one of THE most magical places in the world.
I also considered a Disney Cruise. I heard it costs a pretty penny but is truly something to be experienced in one’s own lifetime. I couldn’t even fathom the excitement I would have with an experience like this! In keeping with this, I would also like to visit Disneyland. I know it’s not as big as Disney World, but I would still like to experience the other property in the US. Heck, while I’m at it, I would love to see Disney Hong Kong – that would be interesting and probably is quite a departure from what we’re used to here!
I’m hoping to see Mickey Mouse and friends soon. Wish me luck!
Any tips, ideas, or memories you’d like to share about your experiences at Disney? I would LOVE to hear it!!!!
