As I watched the Winter Olympics come to a close, I realized those 5 rings inspire me. For a little more than two weeks, I was glued to the T. V. because I didn’t want to miss a single moment. I was amazed to see athletics from all over the world use their passion and accomplish their long-waiting goals. Not only did dreams come true, I saw athletics represent their country proudly, share their stories, overcome adversities, break records and make history. Unfortunately, I also saw some athletics disappointed and heart broken. Even with broken dreams, if you ask most Olympians, they would say the journey to the Olympics was worth every moment.
Have you ever thought about what happened before the big Olympic stage? From what I can see, international athletics live in and out of their suitcase and travel to different cities and countries to compete. And, for what? Who would want to be away from their families and travel to awesome countries without having enough time to enjoy it? I could tell you who….someone who wants to reach for the Gold. The thrill of accomplishing goals and being recognized with the highest honor is enough to sacrifice everything. Olympians travel with a purpose.
Now I’m not going to tell you to run a marathon or take up skiing, I think we should all travel with a purpose. When we go to a new place or take on a new adventure, we should start to notice how traveling change us for the better and effect us in ways we couldn’t imagine. I know, when I’m travelling to different places or go on one of my famous excursions, I learn something new and personally discover something about myself. You will too! It’s a great feeling 🙂
Exciting stuff, right? If you are a Olympicholic like me, then leave a comment and tell me your favorite Olympic moments. Keep this under the radar…..I’m planning on going to the next Olympics. Brazil here I come!
Hugs,
