Do you love food as much as we do? I bet you do! Eileen signed up for several cooking classes and learned how to make some incredible dishes. Just to name a few…Mediterranean shrimp wraps, Asian chicken orzo salad, summer squash with panko and thyme, roasted plum tomatoes with garlic herbs and gorgonzola, yukon gold potatoes crusted with parmesan cheese, crispy noodle salad with sweet and sour dressing and grilled zucchini rolls with spinach, goat cheese, roasted peppers with a basil mustard drizzle. There’s only one word to say about all of this….Yummy!
As for myself, I took a few cooking classes and I even entered a chili cook-off at work (by the way, I mainly work to save up for my next vacation). Anyways, there were so many different types of chili…sweet chili, Caribbean tamed chili, turkey chili, chipotle chicken chili. Besides making my best chili ever and not winning the cook-off, it gave me a chance to try all sorts of chili recipes.
Of course, we couldn’t forget about dessert. Eileen learned how to make strawberry and blueberry Romanoff with toasted almonds and chocolate strawberry panini…delicious stuff! And to make things even sweeter, on our last vacation we learned how to make chocolate. Without a doubt, we learned how to do it in a town known for chocolate….Hershey, Pennsylvania.
No matter how we slice it, we love to eat and scout out unique places to eat. We even went to the Rachael Ray Show. So, What does this tell you about us? We love food!
Now, if you are a foodie like us, then have you ever thought about taking your food on the road? It’s possible with a foodie travel tour. It’s a fun and unique way to travel. You can learn to cook and eat delicious meals as you discover a new culture and place. Here’s awesome suggestion for you (I want to do this myself)…..
- Culinary Tour of Santa Fe & Hands On Cooking: With this foodie tour, you can explore the food and historic culture of the city. You’ll taste delicacies and regional specialties from local eateries. Also, a well-known chef (John Vollertsen) will give you hands on cooking classes to learn how to use Santa Fe’s seasonal ingredients and spices (inspired by Mexico) and prepare the most popular New Mexico dishes.
Yeah, I think I made up my mind. I’m definitely going on a foodie travel tour. And, I’m going to drag Eileen with me. I don’t think she’ll put up too much of a fight. So, tell me about some of your cooking experiences or unique restaurants you have visited. I can’t wait to hear from you!
Hugs,
P.S. Check out some of the unique restaurants we’ve been to recently…..Melting Pot (fondue cooking), Zinburger (wine & burger restaurant) and Spoon (coffeehouse).
