You made it through the first week of the New Year! Did you make any New Year resolutions? Better yet did you break your New Year resolution already? No worries, I’ve been there. I just love this time of the year because everything is fresh and clean…..just what the doctor ordered.
Now, as a travelling chick, mine and your New Year resolutions might sound a little different from the typical “lose weight and exercise more” promises (although I need to do that too). Let me just take a guess what a travelling chick New Year resolution would sound like….
- Travel More: First of all, this should be an obvious one. We want to do more of what we love. Last year, I went to Pennsylvania, Connecticut, Virginia and North Carolina. I’ve been to these states before but I did visit new cities. But, this year I have big plans on visiting some new places.
- Find Creative & More Economical Ways To Travel: If you want to travel more, then you’ve to learn how to stretch your dollars. Eileen and I went to Tampa for 4 days including airfare, hotel, and car rental, food, parking fees, professional baseball game, concert, aquarium, helicopter and Busch Gardens tickets for less than $900.00 dollars. And, we did a weekend trip to Hershey Park (amusement park, car rental, food, gas, and events around town) for less than $300.00 dollars. We’re getting pretty good at making our dollars go a little further. Stick with us and we’ll help you to do the same.
- Use the Best Travel Apps: When you are on the go, you don’t want to be bogged down with travel delays, directions, hotel issues and other stuff. You want what you need quickly. Knowing and using the most useful apps does just the trick.
- Research & Get The Best Travel Accessories: If you are going to hit the road more, then the last you need are heavier bags to carry around. There are some great travel accessories that will make you packing much easier.
- Better Camera: It may sound funny but let me explain. An awesome camera can make all the difference in capturing your travel experiences. And, the pictures will be great to show off to everyone else 🙂
- Make More Money: It’s simple. We all know money influences a lot of things. If you have more then you can do more.
- Venture Out More: Travel and adventure are like brother and sister. When you are travelling somewhere new, you want to explore and do fun things to create those special memories.
Did I sum it up for you? I hope so. We did have fun last year. And, we are looking forward to having more fun this year. Of course, I want to hear your New Year resolutions and plans. Just leave me a comment and while you’re at it take a look at what we did last year.
Hugs,

Great post! It’s inspired me to make my own list of goals for this year. You mentioned you want to get a better camera… I can help by making a suggestion for that! The Sony a6000 is a fantastic, reasonably-sized mirrorless upgrade from a standard point and shoot. I absolutely love mine. You can check out some samples of photos I’ve taken with it in my article over at http://stylishtravelgirl.com/sony-a6000-review/
It seriously makes a HUGE difference in the quality of my travel articles, and it’s beginner-friendly for being a semi-pro camera.
I hope that helps at least get your research started on getting a new travel camera. Have fun reaching all your travel goals this year — I’m sure you’ll do it!
